What to expect during your trip...

Squid

Squid

llex and Loligo squid come inshore from the continental shelf as the water approaches 50*. This usually occurs in early May off the coast of New England. Cape Cod has the first bit of the run and a week after Squid approach Narragansett bay and Rhode Island south shore.

Fishing is done with a pair of squid jigs, mantles are commonly 12" and 3/4 of a 5 gallon bucket is common for anglers to achieve in a few hours when the run is good. Trips run 7pm-midnight with extended trips available.

Fluke

Fluke (summer flounder) fishing is one of Rhode Island's most popular gamefish. Fishing for these doormats is done May-August.

Fish can reach into the double digit range and fight incredibly well. 

Block Island offers a world class fishery and is only a short distance away. 

SeaBass

Sea Bass and Scup

Black Sea Bass/Scup are plentiful, and the captain will be able to rig up either light jigs or a bait rig to capture some of these delicious bottom feeding creatures. Fishing is typically done in June/July or per regulation which tend to change yearly.

Bass

Trophy Striped Bass

Block Island offers a world class striped bass fishery many months out of the year with July and August topping the list. Live eels and a light weight are all that is required, the captain will put you on his best areas for an honest crack at a 50 plus pound bass! The average striped bass are 40-50 lbs during this time. These trips are mainly catch, photo, release as slot limit fish are nonexistent on the areas the captain fishes.

School Bass/Wire Line

Smaller School Striped Bass and Bluefish will be targeted on these trips. Fun Trip for Catching Multiple Fish!

TOG

Tautog

Tautog (blackfish) fishing is done as the water begins to cool late September/October. Fishing for these bottom creatures can be exciting as a 8lb tog' can really dig and pull exceptional for their size. Green crabs are used as bait and fishing is typically done in water 30-80ft. Majority of the fish are 5-8 lbs. Some interesting bi-catch can happen as well including grey triggerfish and northern puffer fish.

Tuna Fishing

This Trip will focus on Inshore Tuna. Time of year will determin if it is a trolling trip,jig or bait fishing

False Albacore and Green Bonito

Chase false albacore and green bonito from Weaterly to Newport along the coastline in the late summer/early fall for a fun trip with these speedsters. Bonus bycatch includes chub mackerel and bullet mackerel. Schools are fast and this is a ‘run and gun’ type fishery.

  • Please wear approiate footwear, no open toed sandles on fishing trips

  • No Drugs or Alcohol

  • No Aerosol Suntan Lotion
